Email Congress to Support HR 152 Ending the Korean War Resolution

Jun 11, 2019 | Action-Alert, Resources

The United States Congress is the bicameral legislature of the Federal Government of the United States, and consists of two chambers: the House of Representatives and the Senate. Both senators and representatives are chosen through direct election, though vacancies in the Senate may be filled by a gubernatorial appointment. Congress has 535 voting members: 435 representatives and 100 senators.

HR 152 Ending the Korean War Resolution was originally introduced in February 2019 by Representative Ro Khanna with Reps. Any Kim, Tulsi Gabbard, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Barbara Lee(20 representatives in total). Since then 12 more Representatives cosponsored the resolution to bring the total number to 32, as of June 11, 2019. It is important that the grassroots keep reminding the Representatives that the Resolution is important for the safety and security of the United States as well as that of the whole East Asia region.

Subject:
Please cosponsor HRes 152, Calling for a Formal End to the Korean War.

Comment:
Ending the Korean War will go a long way toward eliminating tensions on the Korean Peninsula and halting the arms race that has fueled the nuclear crisis. In addition, resolving the war will help reunite thousands of families – including many Korean Americans – who have been separated for nearly 70 years.

Without a peace agreement, the Korean War could resume at any time, and the U.S. could be drawn into a costly and protracted regional war.

A peace agreement with North Korea is the greatest way to ensure the security of Koreans and Americans. Please help end the U.S.’s longest standing conflict and reinvest in our security at home.

Sincerely,
